Keith Finch founded Rapid Haulage in 1977 with a single vehicle and a commitment to reliable, quality transport. Over the following decades, the Rapid Group grew steadily — diversifying from local to interstate and international operations, refrigerated transport, dangerous goods, customs licensing, and bond storage.
Today, with 60 full-time staff across two major depots and a fleet exceeding 100 vehicles, Rapid Haulage remains a family-driven, proudly South Australian business — committed to its customers' success.

Keith Finch founded Rapid Haulage in 1977 with just one vehicle. Now, the Rapid Group has grown to consist of a fleet of over 100 vehicles. Rapid Haulage has diversified into different fields within the transport industry as it has grown.
Today we transport everywhere from local and intrastate to interstate and international deliveries; we transport refrigerated goods, general cargo, oversize loads and dangerous goods; we store and distribute everything from tinned food to motor vehicles and our fleet contains utes, road trains and everything in between.
Specialised equipment and experienced staff allow the Rapid Group to offer an extensive range of services without compromising on quality. At Rapid Haulage, we view our customers' success as important as our own, which is why we are so committed to providing outstanding service.
We are flexible enough to meet your requirements as they change, and even have purpose-built equipment for some of our long-term contracts. Ongoing training and development are a high priority, enabling our experienced staff to provide accurate advice and superior service. With a total of 60 full-time staff, Rapid Haulage is dedicated to providing our customers with the best service possible.

Founded by Keith Finch
Keith Finch established Rapid Haulage with a single vehicle and a vision for reliable, quality transport services across South Australia. The company set out to build lasting relationships through consistent performance and flexible service.
Second Depot Opened
Rapid Haulage expanded into a second transport depot at Cormack Road, Wingfield, supporting continued growth in volume and operational capability across South Australia.
Consolidated at Largs Bay
Both Cormack Road depots consolidated into the new 25,000m² head office at 214 Victoria Road, Largs Bay SA — a world-class facility with AQIS, ACS 77G Customs and the largest undercover Quarantine Approved wash bay in South Australia.
Rapid Refrigerated — Port Adelaide
In November 2012, Rapid Refrigerated Transport moved into a new 30,000m² depot at 48 Lipson Street, Port Adelaide, offering approximately 6,000m² of refrigerated storage. A purpose-built cold chain facility servicing South Australia's food and retail sectors.

Road Transport
Rapid Haulage runs a current fleet of more than 100 vehicles, including b-doubles, sideloaders, tipping skells, refrigerated pans, tautliners, forklifts from 2.5 ton to 40 ton capacity and utes. We transport dry, liquid, refrigerated, palletised and containerised goods.
Our depot at 214 Victoria Road, Largs Bay contains Quarantine fumigation and wash bay facilities and loading ramps, making container packing and unpacking quick and easy.
We have drivers licensed to transport dangerous goods, oversize loads, single, b-double and road train loads, so no matter what the size of the load or the goods you need transported, we have the equipment and staff to suit your requirements.
We hold accreditation under the National Heavy Vehicle Accreditation Scheme (NHVAS) in mass, maintenance and fatigue management, which allows us to transport overmass loads, and means we have additional operating hours per driver. As part of this accreditation we pass regular, strictly monitored audits and our staff must be trained to a very high level.
Warehousing & Storage
We have over 3,000m² of undercover storage area, and more than 20,000m² of outdoor storage space. We currently store goods of all types, from palletised stock to cars.
Our Australian Customs Service Approved Depot License (77G) allows us to store containers under bond, and being a Class 1 Australian Quarantine and Inspection Service approved premises means we can fumigate goods at our depots if required.
We offer a full stock management service for all items stored at our depot — from receiving and inventory tracking through to distribution and dispatch.
Cold Chain & Refrigerated Transport
Rapid Refrigerated Transport (a division of Rapid Haulage) specialises in temperature-controlled transport solutions. We operate purpose-built refrigerated rigid trucks and prime mover and refrigerated pan combinations.
Our Port Adelaide depot at 48 Lipson Street offers approximately 6,000m² of refrigerated storage facilities, with 24-hour access and loading dock infrastructure suited to food manufacturers, retailers and importers.
As a Woolworths Quality Assurance (WQA) accredited supplier and Category 7 Meat Distribution and Transportation accredited business, we meet the highest food-safety and cold chain compliance standards in the industry.

Rapid Haulage also has equipment available for hire. Our fleet is regularly serviced and maintained by our on-site mechanics, and our pricing is very competitive.

Largs Bay Depot

In 2011, Rapid Haulage moved both Cormack Road depots into our current premises at 214 Victoria Road, Largs Bay SA. With over 25,000m² including 2,000m² of secure undercover storage, Largs Bay enables continued growth while streamlining processes.
The facility is Australian Quarantine and Inspection Services (AQIS) approved, and is Australian Customs Service 77G Depot and Section 79 Warehouse Licensed for goods requiring bond storage. We have one of the largest undercover Quarantine Approved wash bays in South Australia, and provide fumigation and tailgate services on premises.

Port Adelaide Depot

In November 2012, Rapid Refrigerated Transport moved into a new 30,000m² depot at 48 Lipson Street, Port Adelaide. This state-of-the-art facility offers approximately 6,000m² of refrigerated storage, with full loading dock and hardstand infrastructure.
The Port Adelaide depot supports Rapid Refrigerated's cold chain operations — servicing food manufacturers, retailers and importers with WQA-accredited temperature-controlled storage and distribution throughout South Australia.

Rapid Haulage holds accreditation in NHVAS Mass, Maintenance and Fatigue Management. This allows us to transport overmass loads and provides additional operating hours per driver. Rapid Haulage holds an Australian Customs Service Approved Depot (77G) license, which allows us to transport, store and unpack underbond containers. Our Largs Bay facility also holds a Section 79 Warehouse license for additional bond storage capabilities.

Class 1 Sea & Air Freight Depot
Rapid Haulage is accredited by AQIS (now DAFF) as a Class 1 Sea and Air Freight Depot. Our premises can fumigate goods, handle quarantine-restricted items, and we operate the largest undercover Quarantine Approved wash bay in South Australia.
